Breaking News: Dr. Hamamreh's work has recently been acknowledged, recognized and adopted by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the largest international standardization organizations in the world. On August 2, 2026, Dr. Hamamreh, Wislabi founder, received a formal correspondence from Dr. Kingston ZHANG, Convenor of the ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 6/AG 4 "MCS Innovation" advisory group at the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Hamamreh's article, "The Information-Theoretic Gap: Reclaiming First Principles in Wireless Communications Research," has been officially adopted as ISO Document N 547. In his letter, Dr. ZHANG noted that Hamamreh's argument—that wireless research suffers from an "information-theoretic vacuum" and needs to return to first principles—is not only interesting but directly aligned with ISO's current mission to study innovative Modulation and Coding Schemes for 6G.
This is deeply gratifying. To have Hamamreh's critique of the field—particularly regarding terahertz communications, intelligent reflecting surfaces, and black-box machine learning—validated by the world's largest standardization body is a grand milestone. Dr. Jehad Hamamreh joined Antalya Bilim University in September 2018 as an assistant professor at the College of Engineering, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), where he later became the ECE department head of Master Graduate Studies in 2023. Prior to his that, he was affiliated with the school of engineering and science at Medipol University, and prior to that he worked with Texas A\&M University at the ECE department. He is an experienced academician with more than six years of teaching and more than eleven years of research experience. Dr. Hamamreh has contributed to his research portfolio by securing funds for two of his projects and publishing more than 90 leading, peer-reviewed conference papers and articles in international technical journals.
Dr. Hamamreh has taught various courses both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including but not limited to Wireless Cybersecurity, Physical Layer Security, Advanced Open Radio Systems (5G/6G), IoT Systems and Applications, Python AI for wireless communications, and Computer Networks. He also presented his research at various leading conferences around the globe. He has supervised more than 20 graduate students on their theses and published multiple research papers with his students. Furthermore, he is also an editor and reviewer for multiple well-known international journals. Dr. Hamamreh is also an inventor of more than 20 Patents, mostly known as the inventor of cross-layer key-less perfect secrecy, Number Modulation, and Power Modulation in OFDM and MIMO systems, as well as Advanced NOMA.
